W O R S H I P

You are the tone-setters. Although everything we set out to do on UNITES involves worship, as a member of the worship team you get to use your voice and/or musical gifts to glorify God while tuning everybody into God’s presence through music. Worship connects our hearts to God, reminds us of His goodness, and serves as another way the Gospel can be declared tangibly. Your job is to lead the people around you through song and ultimately create an atmosphere that invites the Holy Spirit to lead the whole room.

You are the frontline. The first impression. The smiling face. The caring guides. Hospitality is at the core of everything we do. We want everyone to feel welcome and we send you and your warm personality out there to make this happen. Your job, simply put, is to welcome people “home” into the family of God as they walk into the theater.

You are the visionaries and lures. Your job is to utilize social media, graphic design, and the camera in a way that creates the healthiest form of FOMO - showing people what it’s like when God’s people gather to worship, seek Him in His Word, and enjoy one another’s company. Your job is to draw people near to God more so than UNITED, catching the attention of your target audience by utilizing your gifts in creativity and aesthetics.

There are three subcategories within the creative realm: social media management, graphic design, and photography / videography

Consider yourselves the “special operation” branch of hospitality. You are outgoing. The people-person. The breed of human that “can talk to anybody.” You are the connection “link” in helping people get plugged into a church and/or campus ministry. We trust you to befriend newcomers, introduce them to others, sit with them during service, and provide them with every resource available so that a UNITE isn’t where their relationship with God stops. Your job is to come alongside Jesus and His work in “seeking and saving the lost” at UNITES.

You are the executors. We can have all the equipment, light settings, and visuals in the world, but without you the service can’t be produced. You are the main players in helping a service run smoothly. We recognize it’s not all about bells and whistles or putting on a good show, but we hope that you see your skills serve as the backbone of service quality and flow. The worship team and pastor look to you and follow your lead. Not to mention, on any given night you may play a role in the experience of someone seeing worship lyrics or God’s word for the first time. Your job is to usher in the combination of technology and the gospel through solid team communication in the sound booth, attentiveness to timing regarding your specific task, and overall delivery of the service from start to finish.

You are the missionaries. IUP campus is your mission field – the frats, sororities, athletes, undergrad students, grad students, you name it. Your creativity comes in forms of outreach – how to bring Jesus to the lost, the unchurched, the mis-churched, etc. Your job is unique in the way that you are being sent from the familiarity and comfortability of a church setting to a place where the world has the “home court advantage.” Your job is to channel the mind of a college student, brainstorming and carrying out initiatives to bring the gospel to the lives on campus. The hope is that these individuals would find life in Christ and get plugged into a church and/or campus ministry during these formative years of life.
