Powerful things happen when god’s people unite.

The people of our generation, our society, our world… are divided. We often place our differing views and convictions over the essence of love, leading to the damage and destruction of relationships we once shared with others.

We prefer to be right instead of kind. We prefer to talk instead of listen. We prefer to be stubborn than choose to respect and love one another as God loves us, even when we don’t deserve it.

The world is broken. It is plagued with suffering, war, famine, illness, disease, natural disasters… the list goes on and on. God’s Word asserts that these things would happen in our lifetime. Ever since the beginning -- at the fall of mankind --We have been trying to get back to how things were when things were right with God. Yet, all we seem to do is walk further from God and toward our own sin and selfishness.

Jesus spoke about the division and turmoil the world would endure. Mark 13:8 says, “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains.”

Sounds pretty rough. But do you know what overcomes all of these things?

A deep, fulfilling, eternal love that ONLY comes from one being: God Himself.

The world will continue to live in division until He returns to make all things new. Revelation 21:4 says, “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Thanks be to God! Because He loves us and wants to set us free from our suffering forever, He promises to redeem and restore us, our generation, our society, our world, forever.

Do you see yourself as part of that work of restoration and redemption? The work of setting people free, of leading an entire generation to Christ? This scripture should inspire us -- with our differences and qualities that make us all unique -- to come together as one body, spirit, mind, and soul. United.

Ephesians 4:11-13 says, “So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ” (read that passage again)

We become complete in Christ when we are united together as one. We lack nothing when we love one another as He loves us. And it is through our unity that others can experience the love and mercy that Jesus offers all people.

You see, powerful things happen when people experience God’s love. Powerful things happen when God’s people unite.

Are you ready to be United?
